Book Review: “MICRO – Portfolio of Images Taken from Royal Vacheron Constantin” Replica Guide Trusted Dealers
As almost all Where Are Vacheron Constantin Watches Made Replica watches do, the Historiques Triple Calendrier watches take the Geneva Seal which certifies not only certain criteria of motion finishing and decoration are met, but in addition quite a few additional Geneva Seal requirements which you can read all about here. We’re talking about a great deal of traditional decoration methods for the 4400 QC movement, but we can basically assume they are executed to a high quality and will be pleasant to admire. The 4400 QC operates at 4Hz using a sizable single barrel offering 65 hours of power reserve. The 4400 QC consists of 225 components, and adding a moonphase for its 4400 QCL brought the total count to 253. The 4400 has been the base for numerous their brand’s moves, and also you may see a good illustration of a more straightforward version here using all the Patrimony Collection Excellence Platine watch. In fact, since the additional complications such as calendar and moonphase below are located on the front of the movement, the view in the caseback is more or less same as the easier time-only watch. The brand new 1942 and 1948 watches every have a variant with blue accents and one with red (“burgundy”) accents. The red background for the moonphase disk is particularly uncommon and interesting, in my own opinion. The Vacheron Constantin Historiques Triple Calendrier 1948 in steel is going to have a price of $18,400.
Less scrutinised than its great crosstown rival, the vintage watches of Vacheron Constantin Watches Fake Replica are nonetheless just as timeless and equally well made. They are the subject of MICRO – Portfolio of Images Taken from Royal Vacheron Constantin, a photo book covering 50 significant vintage watches by the Geneva watchmaker.
MICRO gets its name from the fact that it is a conveniently sized successor to MACRO – Portfolio of Images Taken From Royal Vacheron Constantin. The latter is a gargantuan and extravagantly detailed tome with the exact same content, except larger – much, much larger. Weighing almost 20kg, MACRO was a limited edition of just five books (plus two artist’s proofs), priced at €15,000, all of which have been sold.
MICRO reproduces the same text and photos, but in manageable size. Though smaller MICRO is equally elaborate, being cloth bound by hand and finished with an embossed, relief leather cover.
Less a textual study than a portfolio of photos, MICRO depicts each of the 50 watches within from the front and in high resolution, revealing the finer details of manufacture and condition. Each watch is accompanied by a short description with key facts like the reference number, material, and date of manufacture.
The style of the book makes it especially useful for a study of crucial elements of the dial and case. In fact, the degree of detail in the photos also reveals the vagaries of patina, from oxidation to loss of lacquer, providing a helpful insight into how a dial ages over time.
While the photos are prefaced with several pages detailing Vacheron Constantin’s history, the tale told is one that will be familiar to fans of the brand.
Both MICRO and MACRO are the work of Italian specialists. The project was overseen by Pucci Papaleo, a collector and author best known for his series of books on vintage Rolex, while the photography was done by Papaleo’s longtime collaborator Fabio Santinelli. The photographic style will be immediately familiar to anyone who regularly peruses Phillips’ auction catalogues – Santinelli is responsible for the images in the Geneva auction.
Another frequent Papaleo collaborator, Paolo Gobbi, wrote the section detailing Vacheron Constantin’s history, while the editorial consultant and owner of many of the watches depicted was Roberto Caso, one half of a pair of brothers who run a vintage watch store in Naples.
